John Verby, 65, husband of a former Manitowoc woman, died at his
home in Chicago today after a lingering illness, according to word
received here.
The body will be brought here from Chicago Sunday afternoon and will
be taken to the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. Services
will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home and interment
will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Verby was born in Germany in 1873 and came to this country 53
years ago, locating in Chicago where he was employed as a baker.
Thirty-seven years ago he married Miss Louise Achenbach of Manitowoc.
She survives with two sons, Howard and Victor of Chicago, and a
sister in Germany.
