ROBERT H. VANDE CASTLE

Robert H. Vande Castle, 61, of 1201 Cherry Rd., Manitowoc, died late Monday night,
August 3, at Holy Family Hospital.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m.
at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Resurrection will be
celebrated by the Rev. Leo J. Schmitt and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Vande Castle was born Oct. 9, 1919, at Manitowoc, son of the late Louis and
Anna Marshek Vande Castle. He resided in Manitowoc all his life, attended Holy
Innocents Parochial School and was graduated from Lincoln High School with the
Class of 1937. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States
Navy from Feb. 10, 1943 to Dec. 8, 1945. He was married to Rose Mary Cavanaugh
April 14, 1951, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Vande Castle was
presently employed as a furniture salesman and coordinator at Rahr's Inc., of
Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary, a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and
Christine Vande Castle of Route 1, Manitowoc; three daughters, Mary Ann of
Ketchikan, Alaska, Connie Lynn of Tucson, Ariz., and Julie Kay of LaCrosse; two
brothers, Raymond of Waukesha and James of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy
Kraft of Green Bay, Mrs. Clarence (Lucille) Bergner of Manitowoc and Mrs. Jack
(Pauline) Kolodzik of New Holstein and three grandchildren, Faith, Mark and Amy
Vande Castle. Three sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. A prayer
service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Paul Kieffer.
