Adeline (Junk) Van Haren, age 96, residing at 628 Woodlawn Drive, Manitowoc,
died March 13, 2009, in the company of her loving family.
A daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Haarmann) Junk, Adeline was born
Oct. 31, 1912, in the town of Centerville. She attended schools in Centerville,
Brillion and Manitowoc. Adeline graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School
in 1930.
On April 21, 1941, she married Robert Van Haren at Holy Innocents Catholic
Church, Manitowoc. Adeline was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and later,
St. Francis of Assisi Parish. At St. Paul's she was a funeral choir member,
communion distributor and member of Christian Mothers' Society.
Prior to her marriage, Adeline was employed as a secretary to Clarence Alt at
Rahr Malting Co. After many years as a stay-at-home mom, she worked for the State
Office of VFW, at Ihlenfeld, Skatrud and Anderson and as a Realtor for 10 years.
During her retirement Adeline volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and at Holy
Family Memorial for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed sharing her garden of perennial flowers with her network of friends
for many years and in her later years with her children. Adeline also enjoyed
music, reading, bridge and traveling the United States and abroad.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert; two sisters: Mildred
Kocourek and Arlene Eslinger and six brothers: Ralph, George, Jerome, Ronald,
Eugene and Joseph Junk; and three sisters-in-law Adeline, Grace and Irene Junk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at St. Francis
of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will
be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo,
Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the
family with funeral arrangements.
