WILLIAM C. H. TOEDTER

William C.H. Toedter, 83, a resident of St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, formerly of
834 Jackson Street, Manitowoc, died Saturday, December 6, 1986 at Holy Family
Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday at First
German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Arno J. Wolfgramm will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Toedter was born June 21, 1903 in the Township of Herman, Sheboygan County,
son of the late John and Christina Fintelmann Toedter. He grew up and was
educated in Sheboygan County, graduating from Howards Grove High School. He
moved to Manitowoc in the late 1920's. Mr. Toedter worked at Schuette Brothers
Department Store and then worked for many years at Kurth Malting Company,
formerly Wisconsin Malting Company, retiring in 1968. He married Viola Trochil
on November 15, 1930 by the late Rev. L.H. Koeninger. She preceded him in death
on May 9, 1952. Mr. Toedter was a longtime member of First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William E. and Joan Toedter of
Iron Mountain, Michigan and James J. and Theresa Krueger of Culpeper, Virginia;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Joseph Konopacki of Manitowoc, Joyce
and Marv Stueck of Green Bay, Bonnie and J. Peter Clover of Marietta, Georgia;
two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bernard Toedter of Milwaukee, Elgert and Evelyn
Toedter of Howards Grove; a sister, Annie Strassburg of Howards Grove; ten
grandchildren, Richard Mastie, Lori and Bryan Toedter, Roger, Kathy and Nancy
Toedter, Mitchell Stueck and Craig Clover; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law,
Hortense Torchil, Lucille and Ludwig Swetlik, Elaine and Pat Reidy and a good
friends, Mayme Opichka. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Friends may call at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei State Street Chapel,
Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Tuesday and Wednesday at the church from 10 am to the
time of services. Memorials would be appreciated to First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
