Miss Anita Josephine Toebe, 58, of 524 N. Fifth St., Manitowoc, died Monday
morning at Maplecrest Sanitorium, Whitelaw, after an illness of several
months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. B. C. Gumz will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
Miss Toebe was born Aug. 23, 1905, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Julius
and Martha Engel Toebe. She attended local schools and had been employed 20
years as a telephone operator by Wisconsin Telephone Co., Manitowoc. With the
change-over to the dial system, Miss Toebe became switchboard operator at Holy
Family Hospital, remaining until several years ago.
She is survived by a brother, Arthur Toebe, of Manitowoc, three sisters, Mrs.
Herbert (Gertrude) Schroeder and Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Napiezinski, of Manitowoc
and Mrs. Norman (Marin) Krueger, of Green Bay and eight nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Tuesday until
11:30 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be removed to the church where the body
will lie in state until time of service.
