JULIUS TOEBE

Julius Toebe, 76, of 719 N. Tenth St., Manitowoc, died unexpected
of a heart attack at the home Saturday evening. He had been up and
about his garden during the day.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Redeemer
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edgar E. Barg will officiate
and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born at Algoma March 13, 1879 and came to Manitowoc in 1898.
In 1901 he married Miss Martha Engel. In his earlier years he was
employed by the Manitowoc and Northern Traction Co., on the street
car line, and for 43 years was employed by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding
Inc., and when he retired in 1947 was a driller foreman. He was a
member of the Lutheran Men's Club, former member of the Redeemer
Lutheran choir and a member of Boilermakers Local No. 442.
The couple observed their golden wedding in 1951.
Surviving are his wife; son, Arthur, of Manitowoc; four daughters,
Mrs. Herbert Schroeder of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; Miss Anita and Mrs.
Gerald Napieczinski of Manitowoc, Mrs. Norman Krueger of Green Bay;
two sisters, Mrs. Julia Commings of Jefferson, Wis., Mrs. Josephine
Fahning of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren and three great grand-
children.
Friends may call at the Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The casket
will be moved to the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
