He remarried before 1930 to a woman named Ethyl F. __. It is interesting to note that both of his wives were named Ethel/Ethyl. George and Ethyl F. Carlson are listed together on the 1930 census in Lynwood, Los Angeles County, California and his stepfather, Fred Grout, is living with them, but by the time George died, he and Ethyl F. are divorced [see death record below]. George was the manager of a service station in 1930 and an owner of a restaurant at the time of his death in 1934. His first wife, Ethel May Sisk, remarried to Oscar Henry Forthun.
