Tractor Upsets; Parker District Farmer Killed Butler Eagle, Butler Co PA, Jan 26, 1957, page 1 W.E. Terwilliger Jr., Dies When Machine Slips on Grade William Edward Terwilliger Jr., 26, of Parker RD1 was crushed to death yesterday when his tractor slipped on a grade and upset, pinning him to the ground. Terwilliger was operating the tractor on his father's farm at Parker RD1 hauling a manure spreader on an icy hillside, when the spreader slid back, pulling the tractor over on him. He died almost instantly. Terwilliger was employed as a dragline operator by the Mack Coal Company at the Terwilliger farm on West Freedom-Dutch Hill Road. Born April 4, 1930, in Perry Township, Clarion County, he was a son of William Edward and Essie Myers Terwilliger. He was married to Charlotte Daugherty of Nelsonville, Ohio, on Jan 15, 1955, and had celebrated his second wedding anniversary just last week. He was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church, the F and AM Lodge of Parker, the Coudersport Consistory, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Nelsonville, Ohio, the Clarion-Allegheny Sportsmen's Club, and the American Legion of Parker. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Daugherty Terwilliger, a six-months-old son, William Edward Terwilliger III; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Terwilliger of Parker RD1; three sisters, Mrs. Evan T. Henry of Bruin, Mrs. Verne T. Manhood of Oil City, and Mrs. Mildred T. Stevens of Angola, Indiana; a brother, Dale Terwilliger at home; four nephews and a niece.
