Doris Mae Templeton, daughter of Carroll and Alma (Randolph) Wood, was born February 23, 1923 in Warren County, Iowa. She attended school in Spring Hill, Iowa and graduated from Spring Hill High in 1941. Doris was united in marriage with Lowell Pool; Lowell died in 1980. She later married Keith “Shorty” Templeton; Shorty died in 2015.
Doris worked in retail for most of her working career. She enjoyed her Sunday trip with Shorty to the Casino. They also loved camping at the Iowa State Fair for over 20 years. Above all else, Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cherished the time she spent with friends and family.
Doris is survived by her three children, Carol (Bob) Ashby of Murray; Diane (Jim) Ashby of Winterset; Tom (Rhonda) Pool of Sully; step-son, Jack (Metza) Templeton of Greeley, CO; sisters, Frankie Wood; Evelyn Hood; brother, Wayne Wood; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lowell Pool; Keith “Shorty” Templeton; sisters, Mary Coffman; Pauline Demory; Jean-Ann Sherbo; JoAnn Beck; Norma Wood; brothers, Vic Wood and Larry Wood.
