Mattie Fay Henderson, 81, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at her home. She was born in Tazewell on February 17, 1918, to the late Robert Dewitt and Mary Moore Tate.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Tate, Jr.

She was a member of the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her husband, R. W. Henderson ("Teet"); two sons and a daughter-in-law, R. W. Henderson ("Bob"), and Paul Harrison and Brenda Henderson, all of Blacksburg; one sister and brother-in-law, June and John Payne, Warrenton; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Tate, Blacksburg; four grandchildren, John Henderson, Greg Henderson, Mark Henderson, and Paula Kay Bryant, all of Blacksburg; two great-grandchildren, Colton Henderson and Gauge Bryant, both of Blacksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, in the Westview Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Charles Taylor and Rev. Jack Boston officiating. Friends may call anytime after 12 Noon, Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 200 Progress Street, NE, Blacksburg, Va. or the Roanoke Valley Presbyterian Church, 2202 Catawba Road, Blacksburg, Va.
