May L. Swoboda, 86, of 215 Riverview Dr., Manitowoc, died Monday morning,
December 1, at the family residence.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann
will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Swoboda, nee May L. Ledvina, was born Jan. 8, 1894, at Kellnersville,
daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine Rief Ledvina. She attended St.
Joseph Parochial School, Kellnersville, and Oshkosh Normal. Following her
graduation in 1913, she taught school in Wisconsin and Minneapolis. She
was married to Joseph F. Swoboda Sept. 22, 1919, at St. Joseph Catholic
church, Kellnersville and established residence in Manitowoc, residing
here since. Mr. Swoboda preceded her in death April 1, 1979. She was an
honorary member of St. Paul Christian Mothers Alar (sic) Society.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Joan Swoboda and
a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Erwin (Corrine) Dose of Manitowoc and six grand-
children, Donna Stanull of Burnsville, Minn., Dr. Robert Stanull of New
Orleans, La., Tim Swoboda of Carbondale, Ill., Kathy Swoboda of Mankato,
Minn., Laurie Swoboda of Eau Claire and Mary Swoboda of Manitowoc. A son,
Lawrence, preceded her in death in 1967. Six brothers and four sisters also
preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Wednesday until the
time of service. There will be no Tuesday evening visitation at the funeral
home.
