Joseph F. Swoboda, 87, of 215 Riverview Dr., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening in
Holy Family Skilled Nurising (sic) Facility.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10:30
a.m. in St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Philip Hoffmann will
officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Swoboda was born June 28, 1891, in Norman, Wis., son of the late Joseph and
Emily Kostechka Swoboda. He married May Ledvina Sept. 22, 1919, in St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Kellnersville, with the Rev. J. Reindl officiating. Following
their marriage they came to Manitowoc to reside, where he was employed 39 years
as a foreman with Mirro Aluminum Company, from which he retired Jan. 1, 1967.
Mr. Swoboda was a 56 year member of St. Paul Catholic Church and honorary member
of Mirro Management Association.
Survivors include his wife, May, a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Joan
Swoboda of Manitowoc; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Erwin (Corrine) Dose of Manitowoc;
four sisters, Mrs. Anna Wallace of Green Bay, Mrs. John (Emily) Vnuk of Los
Angeles, Calif., Mrs. George (Clara) Bulgrin of Amherst, N.Y., and Mrs. Al
(Bessie) Budnik of Manitowoc and six grandchildren, Dona Stanull of St. Paul,
Minn., Robert Swoboda of Milwaukee, Tim Swoboda of Carbondale, Ill, Kathy
Swoboda of Stevens Point and Laurie and Mary Swoboda of Manitowoc. A son,
Lawrence and five brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday,
where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m.
