Morning Chillicothe Constitution, pg 3, column 3; May 18, 1891- DIED
May 11 in Sampsel township, of pneumonia, Rubie Sweeden, daughter of Jack and Kattie [Sneed] Sweeden. The remains were interred in the Curtis cemetery, four miles northeast of Sampsel.
We have laid our dear Rubie away to rest,
In her cold and narrow tomb,
God called her to her home above
To leave us all in gloom.
Softly now our baby's sleeping,
Sweetly on the Savior's breast.
Never more on earth she'll waken;
Yes, our darling's gone to rest.
Our dear Rubie gone from our home,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
