Diane is my sister. She had just turned 34 when she left us. Diane was special needs, we don't know exactly what the problem was, but several in my family are carriers of or have Crit Du Chat. She was more functional than those with Crit Du Chat. I have never met a kinder soul. She never met a person she didn't like. She was 15 when I was born, and was a great older sister!
When Diane died, mom had already endured the loss of a son and husband. I don't know how my mother, Mary Stockman, survived so many terrible losses. She was the strongest woman I have ever known. On Aug. 29 2008, she went to be with Diane, my brother Roy, and my father Lewis.
The photo I selected is of the three of us...mom, Diane and me. It was taken Easter Sunday 1978. Mom is on the left, Diane on the right, and me in the front.
