HAZEL LILLIAN STEFFEN

Hazel Lillian Steffen, age 87, of Berlin, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 at Juliette
Manor.
She was born May 15, 1917 in Manitowoc, the daughter of Fred E. and Della Duveneck
Steffen. Hazel never married. As a young woman, she traveled around the country
with dogs that she trained for a circus act. She was also an acrobat in the same
circus. In later years, she was employed by Hamilton Mfg. plant in Two Rivers.
She moved to Berlin where she lived at Wyndegate Apts. Hazel was a member of St.
John Lutheran Church in Berlin.
Hazel is survived by three sisters: Sylvia Murphy of Albuquerque, N.M.; Ethel E.
Thompson of Franklin; and Mary Jane Kestly of Moerpark, Calif.; and a sister-in-law:
Mary Ann Steffen of Newton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her parents; two brothers: Frederick and Querin; a sister-in-law: Violet Steffen;
and two brothers-in-law: Ned Murphy and George W. Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. at Barbola Funeral
Chapel, the Rev. Bryan G. Lundquist officiating. Inurnment will be in Evergreen
Cemetery in Manitowoc.
Friends and relatives may call at the funeral chapel on Saturday morning from 10:30
a.m. until the time of services.
