Mrs. Lilly Stauss, 99, of 1209 S. 15th Street, died Thursday, May 21,
1987 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm
Saturday at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Rev.
Arthur Wille will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mrs. Stauss was born March 21, 1888, in the Town of Newton, daughter of
the late Fred and Anna Eberhardt Wernecke. She attended schools in the
Town of Newton. She married William Stauss on March 9, 1910 in the Town
of Newton. Mrs. Stauss was a member of First Reformed United Church of
Christ.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Elroy and Vernetta
Stauss of Manitowoc and Harvey and Irene Stauss of Manitowoc; a
sister-in-law, Ida Wernecke of Manitowoc; four grandchildren and ten
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Lester, and two
brothers, Fred Wernecke and Erwald Wernecke.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Friday
and Saturday from 9 am to 11 am and then at the church from noon to the
time of services. Memorials may be made to First Reformed United Church
of Christ.
