Edwin A. "Ed" Stanczyk, age 78, of Naperville, formerly of Chicago, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003 at Edward Hospital, Naperville. He was born April 2, 1925 in Chicago.


Loving husband of Patricia, nee Madigan; beloved father of David and Donna (Stan) Brown; adored grandfather of Zachary and Zoey Stanczyk and Nolan, Eric and Kayla Brown; devoted son of the late Joseph and Sophie; dear brother of Jean (Frank) Griwac, Alois (Celia) and the late Sally Schillaci, Charlotte Wagner and Chester (the late Terry); fond uncle of many.


Mr. Stanczyk was a US Navy Veteran of WWII.


He was employed by Carborundum Company, Hillside, IL for many years and later at Lakeview Junior High, Darien, IL.


Visitation Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. at FriedrichJones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, IL.


Services will begin Friday, 9 a.m. from the funeral home and will proceed to a 10 a.m.


Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 2220 Lisson Rd., Naperville, IL. Interment private.


In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
