Bob Stafford, Sr. was born in April, 1891 to Henry and May McElwain Stafford in Chicago, Ill. After graduation from high school, Bob attended the University of Wisconsin, where he received his Batchelor's Degree.
He was a Veteran of WWI, attaining the rank of Artillary Captain in the 124th F.A. Army Expeditionary Forces. He was sent overseas, and saw action in Europe.
He married Norma Rowina Karnopp in March of 1918, and they would have two sons: Robert R. Stafford, Jr. (1924-1997), and Howard Moore Stafford (1926-1979). Norma died in 1972, and he married (2nd) Eleanor Tuttle, who also preceeded him in death.
Bob became president and CEO of the Robert O. Law book manufacturing company in Chicago, Illinois which manufactured school books. This company was, at one time, one of the largest book manufacturing companies in the country.
Later in life, he retired to West Palm Beach, Florida.
He died in Mayport, Florida in 1992, two months before his one hundred and first birthday.
