FRED SMITH, CITY EMPLOYEE, VICTIM OF HEART FAILURE
Fred C. Smith veteran employee died of a heart attack at his home on Jefferson street sometime Monday afternoon. He was found by Mrs. Smith upon her return to the house at 5: 30. Dr. Floyd Bralliar, summoned to the home, expressed belief Mr. Smith had been dead about two hours. He had not been working for the past two weeks because he was not feeling well, but had given no indication that he was seriously ill.

Born in Holboken, N. J., on September 24, 1884, Mr. Smith had been a resident of Wickenburg since 1927 and held several positions with the town during the past 19 years. He was Town Marshal for 10 year and also served as constable of the Wickenburg precinct just prior to the present 'constable, Lotus F. Westall.

In 1920 he was married to Anna Dillemuth, the surviving widow. Two children also survive, Mrs. Evelyn McGinnis and William, a student at Arizona State Teacher's college at Flagstaff. The son was just recently discharged from the Navy. Two brothers and a sister, living in the east, also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Friday at the Wickenburg Chapel, with burial in the Wickenburg cemetery.
