GLADYS E. SIEVERT

Gladys E. Sievert, 81, of 22 E. Fremont St., Kiel, died Monday evening, Dec. 3, 2001 at her home after a brief battle with cancer.

She is the former Gladys Lindemann born June 5, 1920 in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Viola Sternbeck Lindemann. She attended the former George Washington School in St. Nazianz and graduated from Kiel High School. On October 18, 1941 Gladys married Clarence Sievert in Chilton. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1992. The couple farmed in the town of Schleswig until 1973 when they moved to Kiel. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel and the Kiel Senior Community Center. Gladys enjoyed socializing with her family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Krupp of Kiel; one son, Gene (Cynthia) Sievert of Reedsville; six grandchildren and one great grandson. She is further survived by her twin sister, Alice (Earl) Sievert, residents of Calumet Homestead and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, brother and sister-in-law, Orville (Leora) Fluhr of rural New Holstein, Irene Lindemann of Kiel and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Daniel Krupp, one brother, Robert Lindemann, one brother-in-law, Gilbert Weber and one sister-in-law, Francis Sievert.

Funeral services will be held at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating. Burial will take place in the Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
