MRS. LOU SHUMATE DIES IN MEMPHIS
Word of the death Tuesday of Mrs. Lou McLean Shumate at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Selwyn Tucker, 1517 Eastmoreland Street, Memphis, was received by relatives here Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Shumate, a native of Marshall County, where she spent the last years of her life, was for many years a resident of Newburn. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Quincey Shumate, four daughters; and three nieces of Nashville, Mrs. John H. McClure, Miss Mammie Akin, and Mrs. L.G. Durr.
Funeral services will be held at Memphis at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
