James L. Scroggins, 77, Athens, died Sunday at the Athens Nursing Home.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First United Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens in charge. The Rev. Dewey Craft and the Rev. Marvin Pitts will officiate.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Richards, Mrs. Ozell Elders, and Mrs. Lucille Hughes, all of Athens, Mrs. Pauline Robinson and Mrs. Mary Furline, both of Elkmont; three sons, Junior L. Scroggins of Ardmore, Paul Scroggins and John Scroggins, both of Athens; a sister, Mrs. Estell Dungy of Athens; 53 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
