Ellen Nevada Scroggin Kennett, 65, of Madison died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at her residence.
She was born March 27, 1941, in Madison, the daughter of Orville and May Denning Scroggin. She lived all of her life in Madison and was a 1959 graduate of Madison High School. She was employed early in life with the Conn Organ Co. and later began a 35-year career with Grote Industries as an assembler. She was a member of the Quarter of a Century Club at Grote and a member of Westfork Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Gwen Ellis, Barb Scroggs and her husband, Tom, and Darlene Jo Kennett, all of Madison; one son, Bobby Kennett and his wife, Mary Emma, of Madison; three sisters, Nancy Trowbridge of Cave City, Ky., Betty Fox of Madison and Polly Scroggin of Bloomington; two brothers, O. Fred "Sonny" Scroggin of New York and Donnie Scroggin of Hanover; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Kennett, whom she married May 16, 1959, and who died Oct. 27, 1997; her parents; two infant sisters; and one sister, Carol Snyder.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the service Saturday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Ellen Kennett Memorial Fund. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
