"Good Woman Gone"
Mrs. Georgine Schroeder, wife of Christian Schroeder, of this city, died Thursday morning, November 9th, at her home in this city of Septicaemia, aged 72 years, 7 months, and 11 days. Deceased was born March 29, 1839 in Hemendorf, Hanover, Germany, coming to this country when quite a young girl and with her parents settled in Illinois.
March 6, 1863, she was united in marriage to Christian Schroeder, at Breese, Illinois, and shortly after with her husband removed to this county.
Three sons, John and August of this city, and Theodore of Clark, Mo, came to bless their happy union, all of whom with the husband survive.
Mrs. Schroeder was a spendid christian woman, of a sympathetic and kindly nature, which manifested itself in a life of devotion to her husband and to the children and grandchildren. In the later years of her life she was in ill health, but always bore her afflictions with fortitude and patience, confident that her faith in the Master would tide her over the ills of this life and in the end take away the sting of death.
Her end came suddenly, being only sick a few hours, and when the summons came she passed quietly and peacefully into the great beyond to dwell forever with the angels. The funeral will be held at her late home, Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10 o'clock a.m. and interment will be in Fairhaven Cemetery.
