FRANK VERNON SCHRINER, 87, of Germantown, TN, passed away September 5, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis. During his final years, Mr. Schriner was a proud resident of the Germantown Plantation. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Harriet Nelson Schriner. Mr. Schriner is survived by his three sons: Frank Jr. (Gracie) of Lookout Mountain, TN, Michael (Carolyn) of St. Louis, MO, and Robert (Laura) of Memphis, TN. In addition, he leaves behind his seven grandchildren: Frank III, Ferrin, Jessica, Jonathan, Amy, Elizabeth, and Mary. Mr. Schriner served in England as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army 8th Air Force 466 Bomber Group during World War II and was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross. Mr. Schriner retired from the Veterans' Hospital in Memphis after forty years of service. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, and cherished grandfather and friend. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a funeral services beginning at 4:30 p.m. The family requests that memorials may be sent to the donor's charity of choice.
