OBITUARY-
ROSE CREEK -- A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Dorothy J. Schmit at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rose Creek with the Rev. Ruben Spinler officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Mrs. Schmit, 75, of Rt. 1, Rose Creek, died Thursday evening (Feb. 12, 1998) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home.
Dorothy J. Bisbee was born May 18, 1922, in Osage, Iowa. On Nov. 28, 1940, she married Lawrence Schmit. He survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Janice (Mrs. Dave) Bartley of Hillsboro, N.C., Carolyn (Mrs. Clifford) Tindal of Mapleview, Minn., Joyce (Mrs. Craig) Lerum of Sioux Falls, S.D., and JoAnne (Mrs. Larry) Rhine of Delta, Colo.; three sons, James (Florence) and Mark (Margaret), both of Rose Creek, and Jack (Pam) of Austin; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Naida Gruhlke of Eyota, and Jane Soiney of Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin. There will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m. They may also call at the church one hour before the service on Monday.
