MRS. GEORGE JACOB SCHMIDT

Mrs. Schmidt was born in Koenigschaffhausen, Baden, Germany and died at her home near Harrisonville, Mo., Dec. 31, 1912. Her death was caused by cancer of the liver, from which she had suffered for some time.

She was married Jan. 12, 1864 to the husband who now survives her. The family came to the United States in January, 1884 and located near Bevington, where they resided until December, 1902, when they moved to Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, three sons and four daughters. The three daughters residing in Iowa are Mrs. Kate Hicks of Des Moines, Mrs. C. E. Huglin of South township, Mrs. Clem Rose of Green county. She also leaves a brother and sister in this county, Fritz Henninger of Crawford township and Mrs. John Huglin of Bevington.

Mrs. Schmidt's old home was in South township, near Blair chapel. Here she resided for eighteen years and was well known by the older residents of that section of the county.

The deceased was a member of the German Lutheran church, having joined that church early in life.

The funeral services were held on Monday at the home, conducted by Rev. A. Schounnaer of Parkville, Mo.
