Maxie - Funeral services will be held at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. for Floyd Savant, Jr., 70, who died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at his residence after a long battle of cancer.
Entombment will be in the Acadia Restheaven Cemetery, Crowley, LA.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Fruge Savant of Maxie, three sons, Charles Edward Savant and wife Connie of Jasper, TX, Raymond Savant of Lumberton, TX, Dean Savant of Houston, TX, two daughters, Dawn Choate of Lumberton, TX, Kandi Broussard and husband Marc of Breaux Bridge, LA, three step sons, Jason Pastor and wife Mary of Crowley, Chad Pastor and wife Julie of Crowley, Cody Pastor and wife Stephanie of Egan, Thirteen Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, one sister, Florence Chapman of Rayne, three brothers, Ray Savant of DeRidder, Gene Savant of Carencro, Cliff Savant of Hawkinsville, GA.
He was preceded in death by one son, Floyd Felix "Fred" Savant; parents, Floyd Savant and Anasitize Trahan Savant; one brother, Lawrence "Soapy" Savant; one sister, Pat Savant.
He was born Tuesday, February 14, 1939 in Rayne, LA, Son of the late Floyd Savant, Sr. and the late Anasitize Trahan Savant.
Mr. Savant was a cross country truck driver for 40 years then he retired from KLLM Trucking Co. of Jackson, MS in 2001.
