JOSEPH F. RYDER

Joseph F. Ryder, 82, (photo) of 950 N. 22nd St., Manitowoc, died
Monday at home of a coronary attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Jens Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. D.T. Stannard will officiate and burial will be
in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ryder was born Sept. 25, 1885, at Manitowoc, son of the late
Frank and Margaret Kohlman Ryder. He attended local schools and was
married to Mary Marshek March 16, 1908. The couple established
residence at Manitowoc. He was a member of the Manitowoc City Fire
Dept. several years, worked as a fireman on the Chicago and
Northwestern Railroad 32 years, for the Soo Line Railroad five years
and retired in 1948. His wife died in 1967.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Genevieve, at home, and Mrs. John
(Geneva) Fischer of Manitowoc, two sons, Clarence of St. Paul, Minn.,
and Chester of Manitowoc; a sister, Miss Corinne Ryder, of Antigo;
four grandchildren and a great grandchild. Two sisters and a brother
preceded in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
