Santa Claus,
Mr. Hugh Charles Rustin, age 66 of Santa Claus, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, former owner of Rustin Raiders Exterminating Company, and served eight years as the Chairman of the Toombs County Commissioners. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam in 1966 and 67 and was a member of the Oaks Baptist Church in Lyons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Hugh Rustin and Lillian Rollins Rustin and a sister, Mary Rustin.
Mr. Rustin is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Chris Rustin of Santa Claus, one son, Dan Rustin of Vidalia, one granddaughter, Mary McKenzie Rustin of Vidalia, five sisters, Norma Jean Wilson of Cleveland, Tennessee; Bobbie Nell Brantley Hazlehurst; Frances Harden and Susan Grisham both of Santa Claus; Faye Rustin and husband Andy Logan of Jacksonville, Florida, 15 nieces and nephews, 30 great-nieces and nephews, 13 great-great nieces and nephews, two aunts, Tommie Lou Braddock of Cedar Crossing and Lorine Rustin of Savannah.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 3rd at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Eddy Wilson and Reverend Josh Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
