He was born June 18, 1915 in the town of Meeme, son of the late Henry and Louise (Schultz) Ruh. He attended Kiel School and was a graduate of American School of Chicago. On Nov. 30, 1941 he married Florence Olm of Collins at St. Peter Lutheran church, Collins. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1991. He was employed at Stoelting Brothers, Inc., Kiel, for 43 years before retiring on May 15, 1981. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and hunting. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel.
Survivors include his wife, Florence; two daughters, Rochelle (Dennis) Salzman, Houston, Texas, and Roxanne (Glen) Jablonka, Madison; three grandsons, one granddaughter; six brothers and sisters-in-law, Arno (Voight), Kiel; Myrnabelle (Ernest) Sy, Valders; Karl Olm, Manitowoc; Kenneth (Evelyn) Olm, Kiel; Audrey (Wallace) Prausa, Manitowoc; and Elaine Youngchild, Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Norma Voight.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel. The Rev. Richard Warnke, pastor, was the officiant. Burial was in the Rockville cemetery, Town of Schleswig.
