Ernest A. Rosso, 81, of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon at Memorial
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church,
Newton. The Rev. N.C. Hoeflinger will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Rosso was born Dec. 11, 1884, in the Town of Newton, son of the late William
and Mary Awe Rosso. He was married to Sophia C. Schuette Apr. 19, 1908, at
Centerville. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary April 19, 1965.
The Rossos owned and operated a farm in the Town of Newton for 35 years. Then they
moved to Manitowoc where they resided for 19 years. During the past year they made
their home with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Haput, Rt. 4,
Manitowoc.
He was a lifetime member of Salem Ebenezer Church, Newton, where he served for six
years as a deacon on the Board of Trustees.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Clarence, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw and Harvey of
Rt. 1, Ringle; a daughter, Mrs. Allen (Evelyn) Haupt of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; four
sisters, Mrs. Lydia Rambadt of Sheboygan, Mrs. Emma Koeser of Newton, Mrs. Edward
Elfner of Manitwoc and Mrs. Cornelius Hutchinson of Rt. 1, Manitowoc; five grand-
children and two great grandchildren. A daughter, brother and sister preceded him
in death.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Friday. The casket
will be moved to the church at 11 a.m. Saturday to lie in state until time of
services.
