Clarence J. Rosso, age 90, of Eagle, Wis., died Friday, June 18, 1999,
at Linden Grove Nursing Home in Mukwonago.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, 1999, at the
Reinbold & Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev. Karen Doty will
officiate. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Rosso was born April 8, 1909, in the town of Newton, son of the late
Ernst and Sophie (nee Schuette) Rosso. He married Anna Hoffman, who
preceded him in death in 1957. In 1961, he married Norma (nee Soukup)
Sladkey, who preceded him in death in 1981. His daughter, Sherry Ann,
and brother, Harvey, also preceded him in death. Mr. Rosso worked at
Manitowoc Shipbuilding during World War II in their submarine program
and also farmed in the town of Gibson for several years. He was employed
at Mirro Aluminum Company for many years from which he retired in 1974.
In 1982 Mr. Rosso moved to Brookfield, where he lived with his daughter,
Sherry Ann, and son-in-law, Michael G. Teicher and their family. Two
years after his daughter's death in 1991, Michael (Robin) remarried and
Clarence continued to live at the Brookfield residence until 1997. He
has been living with his grandson, Eric (Cindy) Teicher, of Eagle since
then. During his retirement years, at home both on Melnik Road and in
Brookfield. Mr. Rosso took great pride in doing extensive yard work
during the four seasons of every year. He was irreplaceable in the
assistance he gave his daughter and her family during her lengthy
illness. Clarence's benevolence extended to his family and church, and
he could always be counted on to help when it was needed.
In addition to his son-in-law, Michael G. (Robbin) Teicher, Brookfield,
and his grandson, Eric (Cindy) of Eagle, Mr. Rosso is survived by his
sister, Evelyn (Herbert) Scheidt, Manitowoc; grandchildren, Stephen
Teicher, Milwaukee and Pamela Teicher of Greendale; great-grandson,
Nathaniel Teicher, Greendale; step-daughters, Doris Lawrenz, Manitowoc
and Nancy Kubichek, Appleton; step-sons, David (JoAnn) Sladkey, Jackson,
and Gerald (Margie) Sladkey, Two Rivers; 11 step-grandchildren and 13
step-great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
further survive him.
Relatives and friends may call at Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral
Home, Manitowoc from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials sent to the Melnik Presbyterian Church,
Melnik Rd., Whitelaw, where Clarence was a longtime member, would be
appreciated.
