Martin was born on August 12, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of the late Martin and Alice Anderson Rollefson. Martin was a graduate of Von Steuben High School of Chicago with the class of 1935. After high school, Martin and his parents moved to the Valders and Kellnersville area where they farmed. Martin became employed as a welder at Kelvinator Company in Manitowoc. He later moved to Chilton and was employed at the Foley Company as a tool and die maker until it closed operation and then Martin worked for Tecumseh Products in the Lauson Engine Division as a tool and die maker until retiring in 1980.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Alice Rollefson; one sister: Eveyln Rollefson.
It was Martin's wish not to have any visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with his cremated remains to be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
