Mildred Amelia Selch Roedig, age 88, of 1825 Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Foley will officiate with burial to take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Mildred was born on Feb. 5, 1915, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Anton (Kais) and Anna Marie Poklekowska Selch. She attended Manitowoc schools and the Layton Art School in Milwaukee. Mildred married Adolph A. Roedig on Nov. 17, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death May 31, 1999. Mildred and her husband owned and operated Roedig's Greenhouses for 27 years. They also operated Selro's Collie Kennels and Rare Quail Farm. Mildred and Adolph retired to Fort Meyers, Fla., in 1977, returning to Manitowoc in 1999. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church; John Michael Kohler Art Center, Sheboygan; Wisconsin Regional Artists Association and the Lakeshore Palettiers Art League of Manitowoc. Survivors include two grandchildren: Andrew and Bettina Roedig of Naples, Fla.; Timothy Roedig of Pia, Hawaii; one great-grandson: Alec Roedig of Naples, Fla.; nephews: William and Sue Ann Rathman, Elkhart Lake; Bruce Rathman, Plymouth; Tony Selch, Boone, Iowa; Roger and Marion Vande Sande, Manitowoc; niece: Barbara and Tim Uek, Manitowoc; two grandnephews: John Rathman, Menasha; Anthony and Shanna Rathman, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandniece: Beth Ann Uek, Manitowoc. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband: Adolph; one son: Thomas Loren Roedig; one brother: Harry A. Selch; one sister: Barbara Ann Rathman. Relatives and friends may call at Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003.
