Louis Reimer, 82, of 2542 (or 2512?) Michigan Ave., Manitowoc, died Sunday
evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schneider-Mittnacht
Funeral home and at 11 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The
Rev. Richard VerHasselt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Manitowoc Military graveside rite will be accorded Mr. Reimer by VFW Post No.
659.
Mr. Reimer was born April 26, 1892 in the Town of Franklin, son of the late
John and Lena Horstreiter Reimer. He attended Whitelaw schools and was a
mason contractor until retirement in 1952. He married Mary Grail June 19, 1924,
at Whitelaw. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary in 1974. Mr.
Riemer was a veteran of World War I serving in the 79th division overseas, he
was a member of VFW Post No. 659 and an active member of its honor guard and a
charter member of Holy Innocents Parish and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. William (Ann) Gillen of Windsor,
Canada; three sons, Robert of Greenhill, Ohio, Anton, of Manitowoc and Louis D.,
of Hartford, Wis.; 18 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Two children
preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home
where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
