Funeral services for John A. Reif, 48, formerly of 540 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, who died Tuesday, will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. N.W. Kock will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Reif was born Aug. 9, 1918 at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Hattie Carl Reif. He never married. He served in the Armed Forces from Jan. 26, 1942 until March 27, 1946 and was a sergeant in Company 1 of the 3rd Infantry Regiment. He saw service in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre of Operations.
He was formerly employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., and was a former member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a brother, William of Milwaukee and several aunts and uncles. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Tuesday. The casket will remain closed.
