Mrs. Ada R. Rapp, 88, of 816 Huron St., Manitowoc, died Saturday morning at
Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. James Episcopal Church,
Manitowoc, the Rev. William Harvey, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc
Mrs. Rapp, nee Ada Rosalie Newby, was born Oct. 1, 1881, at Ipswich, England,
the daughter of the late James Ewbank and Rosetta Green Newby. She attended
school in England and was graduated from East Suffolk and Ipswich Nursing
Hospital. She was a World War I veteran, having served in the Queen Alexandra’s
nursing staff of England and as a nurse in charge of the ambulance train in
France. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, chairman of St. James
Altar Guild, and a member of St. Faith Guild of the church.
Survivors include three brothers, Paul and Edward of England and Eric G.A. of
Manitowoc; and a sister, Mrs. William Butcher. A daughter, a sister and three
brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society.
