Mrs. Valborg G. Raether, 88, of 612 Oak St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Bruce Hanstedt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Raether was born July 1, 1895, at Porsgrunn, Norway, daughter of the late Harry and Kristine Johnson Gresholdt. She came to the United States as a young child. She married Arnold C. Raether on Oct. 29, 1919, at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1962. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, John F. Raether of Manitowoc; a brother, Harold E. Gresholdt of Manitowoc and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from noon to the time of services at the church. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospital and First Lutheran Church.
