Gordon Raether, 23, of 1214 South 12th street, died early today at the Holy
Family hospital. He had been ill since December.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., from the Wattawa, Urbanek
and Schlei funeral home in charge of the Rev. Paul Blaufuss. Interment will
be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Raether was born in this city in 1915 and after finishing school was
employed at the shipyards. Last year he married Miss Myrtle Behnke.
Survivors are the widow; a son (private), city; mother, Mrs. Walter Raether,
city; two brothers, Roy and Allen, city; grandfather, Julius Raether, city.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until the
services Wednesday afternoon.
