CLARENCE RADKE

Clarence A. Radke, age 88, of 1218 Dewey St., Manitowoc, died Monday evening, Jan. 27, 2003, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be the Rev. Chuck Morkin with burial of the cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date. He was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur and Julia Schmidt Radke. Clarence was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1932. On June 16, 1941, he married the former Elayne Miller. The couple were residents of Arvada, Colo., from1955 until August 2000. Clarence was a tool and die maker at Dow Chemical, retiring in 1978. He was former president of the Tool and Die Makers Local in Denver, Colo., for four years, member of Machinist Local 1661, Steel Workers Union in Denver, Colo., and charter member of Arvada Elks Lodge #2278 since 1963. Survivors include his wife: Elayne Radke, Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law: Richard C. and Patricia Radke, Arvada, Colo.; three grandchildren: Richard (Clarence) C. Radke Jr., Cindi Marie Radke, Laurie Ann Radke; three great-grandchildren: Jacob Cameron Radke, Mitchell Austin Radke, Tyler Ryan Radke; a brother-in-law: Kenneth Miller, Manitowoc; and a sister-in-law: Luella Miller, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law: Erwin L. Miller Jr. and two sisters-in-law: Aldine Machia and Natlie Malinauskas. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, from 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of service at 2 p.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
