GOBLE CREEK MOURNS
Mrs. Alexander D. Quick of Goble Creek passed away very suddenly Friday evening due to sudden paralysis. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m. at the Shanghai church and interment was made in the Woodmen Cemetery [Now Rose Valley Cemetery]. The Rev. G. C. Poolton of Kalama had charge of the services.
The deceased was an old time resident of Goble Creek and most of the inhabitants thereof were in attendance at the funeral. Relatives and friends were present at the services from Kelso, Kalama, and Carollton as well as from points more remote.
Racel Ann Long was born in Oskaloosa County, Iowa, May 5, 1850, and died at her home at Goble Creek July 16, 1915. She was married to Alexander D. Quick May 21, 1866, at Salem, Oregon. To this union seven children were born of whom the following survive: S. Gilbert Quick, Oregon City, Oregon; George O. Quick and Albert L. Quick, Carolls; Charles A. Quick of Dalles, Oregon; Mrs. Mary E. York, Kalama; Mrs. Alice L. Butler, Kelso. [William H. Quick preceded his mother in death]
