Mrs. Kathleen W. Ledford, 83, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001.
She was a resident of Newport News most her life and had retired from the Daily Press, where she worked as an insurance clerk. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Orcutt Baptist Church for over 60 years and joined Liberty Baptist Church in her later years.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Williams Boyd, and her husband, Doug, of Hampton; two sisters, Louise Butler and her husband, Charles, of Hampton and Dot Baker of Randallstown, Md.; two brothers, Paul Powell and his wife, Elizabeth, and Bill Powell and his wife, Donna, all of Hampton; six grandchildren, Steve Boyd and his wife, Ruby, Patricia Williams, Sue Bridges and her husband, Mike, Betty Krulis and her husband, Augusto, Kenneth Williams and Mark Williams, and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight, Feb. 8, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by the Rev. Joe Hunt. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
