JOHN J. POWALISZ

John J. Powalisz, 59, of 2210 Richmond Avenue, Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning, August 28, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Private family funeral services will be Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Rev. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Powalisz was born March 30, 1925, at Manistique, Michigan, son of the late Edward and Sallie Niemerowicz Powalisz. He moved to Manitowoc with his parents, residing here since. Mr. Powalisz attended Manitowoc schools. He married the former Donna M. Brachmahn on August 12, 1960. Mr. Powalisz was presently employed as a Painting Foreman at the Manitowoc Company. Mr. Powalisz was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Donna M.; a son, Jeffrey Powalisz of Manitowoc; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Linda and Paul Elmore of Frankfort, Illinois, Chris and Ron Kaminski of Manitowoc, Sandy and Chuck Gauthier of Mishicot, Carol and Curt Seidl of Harleysville, Pa., and Cathy Powalisz of Manitowoc; two brothers, Edward of Two Rivers and Gordon of Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Genevieve) Zannacker of Madison and Mrs. Hubert (Lorraine) Nischan of Calumet City, Illinois, and 10 grandchildren.
There will be no Wednesday evening visitation at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
