Rev. Israel Poulson Sr. was born in 1770 in New Jersey. He died February 13, 1856, in Headquarters, Delaware Twsp., Hunterdon Co., New Jersey. His parents are not yet known. He was the minister for the Amwell German Baptist (Brethren) Church. He also was the Tax Collector for Amwell Township. He donated the land for the church and built the stone wall around the cemetery.
