Cement Plant Worker Victim of Electrocution
George K. Paulos(sic) Dies at Hospital After Accident
George K. Paulos, 24, 0f 1330-A S. Ninth St. died early Thursday afternoon at
Holy Family Hospital when a crane cable with which he was working at the
Manitowoc Portland Cement Co. came in contact with a power line.
Paulos has been employed at the cement plant since September of 1955 and as one
of a crew of men working with a crane handling rails on property leased by the
firm from the Soo Line Railroad when the crane, or a cable attached to it
contacted a high tension wire carrying 2,300 volts of electricity, electrocuting
him.
The rescue squad of the Fire Department was called and administered oxygen while
enroute to the hospital.
The young man was born June 7, 1932, son of John and Magdaline Porubcansky Poulos.
He attended grammar schools and was graduated from Lincoln High School here in
1950(?). He later attend(sic) Wentworth Military Academy at Lexington, Mo., and
was a member of the Spiders Club of the academy.
He entered the United States Air Force Jan. 2, 1951, receiving his discharge in
July of 1955. On May ??, 1956, he married Judith Ann H????.
She and his parents survive in addition to a brother, William, two

maternal grandmother, Mrs. Clement Porubcansky, of Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home. The Rev. Donald T. Stannard will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by the Drews-Bleser
Post of the American Legion. Local members of the Spiders Club will be pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the hour of service.
