Mrs Lizzie Porter, wife of John Porter, died at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 611 North fourth street, after a lingering illness with cancer of the stomach. She was the daughter of Daniel and Abignail Schreiner and was born in this city February 19, 1852. She was married to John Porter November 10, 1879. Mrs Porter united with Trinity church in 1888. She spent all her life in Lafayette and had many friends. Besides the husband she leaves a sister, Mrs Mary Gallagher, of Indianapolis, three nephews and two nieces. The body was taken to the Frank & Son parlors to be prepared for burial. Funeral services will be held from the Frank undertaking parlors at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Mrs E G Jackson will officiate and Edward Frank will sing. Interment in the Greenbush Cemetery.
