Colonel of the 15th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, U.S.

Wounded at the Battle of Perryville, Kentucky, October 8, 1862, after assuming command of the 17th Brigade, Third Division, I Corps, Army of the Ohio. Died of "fever of typhoid symptoms" in Danville, while recovering from his wound.

Died at age 49.
