Carl J. Pleuss, 85, of 1433 N. Sixth St., Manitowoc, died Thursday
afternoon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Grace Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Keith Haag will officiate and
burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Pleuss was born Aug. 23, 1886, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids,
son of the late Ernst and Martha Lindemann Pleuss. He married Lillian
Rahmlow Sept. 18, 1913, at Two Rivers. They farmed in the Town of
Newton. He was also employed at Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc. They
moved to Manitowoc in 1943. He retired in 1943. He was a member of
Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Howard, of Appleton; a daughter,
Mrs. William (Marion) Thomas, of Manitowoc; a brother, Junias H., of
Manitowoc and ten grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded
him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from
4 to 9 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday and then at the church until the
time of service. Memorials may be made to the Manitowoc Lutheran High
School, or Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
