Stanley was a member of St. James Episcopal Church choir for 78 years and 80 years as an acolyte, server and lay reader. He also was a diocesan layman for diocese of Fond du Lac. Stanley was a bass singer in Meistersinger Guild Male Chorus at Two Rivers. He also was a master elocutionist and made dramatic entries to the stages of First Nickelodeons in Two Rivers Washington House, Opera House and Empire theaters and the Manitowoc Crystal theater. He retired from Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc in 1847 and after retirement worked at Lincoln Field Golf Course.
